Vacancy rates in Brisbane and in most of the key surrounding growth areas remain at around 2% or less.
The latest research from the REIQ shows a general downwards trend in South East Queensland in the March quarter – Brisbane Inner from 1.9% to 1.4%; Brisbane remainder from 2.6% to 1.9%; Redland mainland from 1.8% to 1.6%. Pine Rivers bucked the trend slightly by increasing from 1.5% to a still low figure of 2.2%.
The low vacancy rate figure explains the difficulties renters are experiencing in finding properties to rent. It also points to renewed interest in property from investors.
